The first step to a long lasting structure is its foundation. Ensuring that the topsoil and subsoil are excavated down to a solid subgrade material is imperative. Then, based on the stiffness and moisture content of that subgrade, a geotextile or geo-grid could be installed to ensure uniform shear strength of the subgrade. From there, we will install granular material in multiple lifts, making sure to moisture condition properly and then operate compaction equipment until the desired density is achieved. DHC Solutions Ltd. will also make sure that the final grade of granular layer is uniform to avoid thin spots in your concrete slab. We will notch out around the perimeter to form your thickened slab to bear the weight of the walls. Once finished preparing the gravel, we will install the concrete forms, cut, place, tie, and chair the rebar so you are ready for concrete.
