Landscape Construction Upgrades
Garden Heights, Red Deer, Alberta
DHC Solutions Ltd. was contracted to revamp some landscape features for an upscale home in Garden Heights, Red Deer. After a brief consultation with the home-owners, DHC Solutions Ltd. provided a detailed quote for a number of tasks and services to increase the curb appeal of a beautiful house in Garrison Circle. Once initiated, further consultation resulted in a clear vision of exactly how features would look once complete. Materials were selected and trees and perennials were purchased. The first task was to reconstruct the front planter bed to be more dramatic and provide an elevated effect to give more depth to the front of the house while maintaining consistency with the general colour scheme of the existing brick work. We headed to a rock quarry in the west country with our F-450 and large dump trailer to hand-select large stone for the feature garden bed – the trailer was loaded and the rock was delivered to the project site for installation. A paving stone walking path was installed to connect the front driveway to the side yard and also transition the side yard sidewalk to the back yard area. In the back yard, a portion of the plain rock bed was removed and replaced with sod to increase the usable grassy area. The other rock bed portion was revamped to add colour and function to the yard by removing the rocks and replacing with cedar mulch which, not only looks better, but provides increased moisture holding capacity for the trees and shrubs. Finally, paving stones were installed under the existing chain-link fence to avoid the hassle of weed-eating against the chain-link. Attention to detail is paramount to any aesthetic project. Once completed, the home-owners were thrilled with the end results and expressed that the construction process had been a pleasure.
