Shop Development – Foundation and Services

Lacombe County, Alberta

DHC Solutions Ltd. was contracted to construct a 46’ x 30’ engineered slab for a wood-working shop approximately 10 km west of Lacombe. Prior to building the slab, water, sewer and electrical services had to be trenched and installed. The work included:

• Stripping topsoil
• Compacting subgrade
• Trenching for water, sewer and electricity
• Coring into septic tank and installation of sewer line to shop
• Coring into house foundation and installation of water line to shop
• Installation of plumbing pipe within garage envelope for two sinks, 2 drains and a toilet
• Supply and place crushed gravel (over 150 tonnes)
• Shape and compact gravel for thickened perimeter
• Construct 12” formwork
• Rebar placement and tying
